simultaneous mass existence

3:00 t and i go into Bean Exchange on 7th and Bainbridge. We just watched Sunshine Cleaners and then got some pizza where they played “Moondance” by Van Morrison.

We walked down South St. and went into Mostly Books where i found some old journals that had been written in. i really wanted to buy one but they were like $4 and i only had one dollar on me. Maybe later.

At Bean Exchange we get coffee. i get a chocolate chip cookie and t gets a biscotti. The coffee is hot; it is cool outside.

3:10 we are sitting next to a guy who looks like Zod, the bad guy from Superman II. A car horn honks. T wipes her mouth with a napkin. i think i’ve been drinking too much coffee lately. i had a hard time sleeping last night.

3:15 t opens her book and pretends to read. She’s reading An Unfortunate Woman by Richard Brautigan. She looks self-conscious because she knows i’m writing this.

T points out a sentence from the book: “i’m sitting in a coffee shop.”

3:25 i’ve finished my coffee and cookie. The customers at the counter are talking about going to the bathroom.

i ask t if the person sitting a couple of seats from us is a guy or a girl.

3:30 i put my jacket on as we leave. i’m coughing. i find a penny on the ground and pick it up. It feels a little warmer out and we head south into an area we’ve never been, Little Italy.

3:58 we pass a woman laughing and both t and i simultaneously whistle her laugh.
